About Us

Sandman Book Company is an independent locally owned bookshop in Punta Gorda, Florida. The owners, Heidi & Scott, are Hillsdale College alumni.

Our mission is to share a love of reading and of literature with our local community; to maintain low prices that allow our customers to enjoy literature despite the current economic upheaval; and to provide a bookshop which is pleasant to browse and explore.

We strive to create the atmosphere of a classic bookshop you might find in an old European town - combined with the modern amenities of the computer age.

We have comfy reading chairs scattered throughout the store, including two child-sized armchairs in the Children's section.

We also have a resident cat named Kitty-Wan Kenobi. He is very friendly and loves to meet new bookworms!
